The United Basalt Products Ltd is seeking to recruit a Technician L1 (Auto Mechanic) for its Engineering Department’s Fleet Services Section. The recruit may be placed on different sites and may not be solely based at Geoffroy Road, Bambous, depending on the business exigencies.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor testing, maintenance, repair as well as inspection of the fleet
  • Intervene in equipment for Predictive and Preventive Maintenance as well as breakdowns as and when required
  • Carry out recommended maintenance as well as complex repairs and act where applicable
  • Follow up with responsible person and ensure required parts are available as well as delivered for proper execution of tasks in a timely manner
  • Prepare technical reports and/or monitor technical tasks as requested
  • Document work performed, parts used, and record required equipment information for proper follow-up
  • Adhere to instructions received from responsible person for proper execution of clients requested tasks
  • Provide desired level of service to all stakeholders
  • Supervise, coach and collaborate with team of technicians as and when required
  • To work in accordance with HSE regulations

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

  • NTC3 in automotive systems, hydraulics, pneumatic, electric or mechanical or equivalent
  • 6 – 8 years of experience in a similar environment and related plant engineering positions in a heavy industry preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools would be an advantage
  • Expert diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Knowledge and knowhow of equipment (understanding of Mechanical, Electromechanical equipment / components)/Troubleshooting
  • Maintenance & Repair/Cleaning/Organisation Skills
  • Physical ability to perform outdoor work in a dust exposed environment
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
  • Willing to work both on odd and flexible hours or on a shift system as and when required
  • Holder of a valid driving license
