Seeking a detail-oriented Cash Controller to manage daily cash operations, ensure accurate reconciliations, and maintain financial controls across our showroom network.
About the Role
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Cash Controller to join our dynamic retail team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily cash operations, ensuring accurate reconciliations, and maintaining strict financial controls across our showroom network.
This role is ideal for a trustworthy professional with strong numerical skills and a passion for accuracy and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately handle and verify all cash, credit card, and alternative payment transactions received from showroom cashiers
- Ensure proper documentation is maintained and official receipts are issued
- Perform daily reconciliation of tills, ensuring all discrepancies are investigated and resolved promptly
- Ensure timely banking of cash and cheques
- Monitor and enforce adherence to accounting policies, internal controls, and safety procedures
- Provide guidance and support to showroom cashiers on financial procedures
- Act as the main liaison with the bank regarding POS machines and related matters
- Ensure all transactions are correctly captured in the accounting system
- Manage and monitor petty cash in line with company policies
- Prepare reports as required by management
- Assist with internal and external audits by preparing documentation and explaining procedures
- Escalate unusual transactions or discrepancies to Management promptly
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum ACCA Level 1
- At least 5 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within the retail sector
