We are looking for an Accountant to join MEDINE GROUP | Support Services (Finance).
Job Summary
Assist in the maintenance, reporting and management of the organisation’s financial matters.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assistance
- Review and assist in the end of year closing and financial statement preparation.
- Review and analyse results of Medine business units as per operating statements and balance sheets for reasonableness, ensuring that financial statements are complete and accurate and recommend corrective action plans as necessary.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations as assigned.
- Assist in the preparation of reports as required by law, regulations and company policies.
- Prepare non-routine reports that analyse and interpret financial/numerical data.
- Assist in the audit and statutory reporting requirements.
- Establishes and maintains relationships and networks with all departments and appropriate outside contacts that interact with the department.
- Leads team to resolve escalated internal and external customers to obtain required information, documents.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts across Support Services team. Detect and correct accounting errors.
- Maintain effective communication with Support Services team.
- Assist Financial Controller & Head of Financial Reporting & Governance in the preparation of consolidated of Medine’s Group Accounts.
- Preparation and e-filing of VAT, TDS, NPF periodic (annual and monthly) returns and deal with any queries evoked by the VAT authority.
- Preparation and e-filing of periodic Statement of Goods and Services returns to the MRA and deal with any queries evoked by the VAT authority.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, monthly MBR reports and analytical reports in collaboration with Financial Controller and as per timing and requirements set by the management.
Monitoring
- Liaise with external service providers for timely delivery of accounts. Review the work to ensure accuracy.
- Prepare audit file for year-end audits.
- Ensures team’s activities and reports are in compliance with accounting principles and adhere with company policies.
Finance Management
- Compute figures and prepare recurring account statements.
- Computation and preparation of periodic corporate tax returns of business units, ensuring compliance with filing deadlines /reporting and other tax requirements.
- Prepare cash flows.
- Assist in the preparation of Statutory accounts
- Develop negotiating strategies by studying integration of new venture with the company’s strategies and operations
- Integrate contract requirements with business operations
- Prepare the annual business development plan, as well as prepare the annual work plan.
- Define yearly targets and objectives (budgeting)
- Present information on the team’s and projects progress
- Focus on driving new revenues, whilst managing costs, by effectively challenging and motivating employees.
CANDIDATE’S PROFILE:
Qualifications Required:
- Minimum 3-5 years relevant experience, in accounting.
- Master’s Degree holder.
- Accounting qualifications.
Key competences (Knowledge, Skills, Attitudes, Behaviours):
- Demonstrate clear understanding of Tax and VAT issues and procedures.
- Excellent knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping terminology and practices and keep up to date with IFRS norms and standards.
- Ability to detect errors.
- Ability to follow, apply, interpret and explain instructions.
- Ability to work in tight deadlines.
- Ability to prioritize own workload and those within team.
- Proactive.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Self-motivated, determinate, and committed.
