The Business Development Officer – Fintech for driving merchant acquisition, activation and revenue growth within the Emtel MFS (blink) ecosystem. This is a field-based, target-driven role requiring strong commercial acumen, resilience, and relationship-management skills.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify, prospect and onboard new B2B and B2C merchants across various sectors in line with set targets.
- Develop and manage a strong sales pipeline, tracking leads effectively through the full sales cycle.
- Present, promote and demonstrate fintech solutions, clearly articulating value propositions tailored to merchant needs.
- Negotiate commercial terms, close agreements, and ensure timely activation of merchant accounts.
- Provide end-to-end onboarding support, including account setup, QR deployment, product demonstrations, and go-live assistance.
- Train merchants and their staff to ensure seamless adoption and operational readiness.
- Monitor activation rates, transaction volumes, and merchant performance against assigned targets and budgets.
- Identify win-back opportunities and proactively re-engage inactive merchants.
- Work closely with the Marketing, Product, and Customer Support teams to enhance merchant experience and retention.
- Provide structured market feedback on competitor activities, emerging trends, and merchant pain points to support product enhancement.
- Participate in promotional events, field activations, and campaigns organized by the team.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum HSC Holder or equivalent
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field would be an advantage.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in sales, business development, or merchant acquisition, preferably in the fintech, payments, or telecom field.
