Position Overview

The successful candidate will join a team of highly skilled Senior Technical Leads, working for a major French client.
This role requires a broad range of technical skills, including design, requirements definition, solution proposals, and implementation. The Senior Technical Lead must be autonomous, capable of managing and delivering projects independently, and proactive in their approach.
This position also requires the ability to build strong relationships with multiple teams within the group as well as with client teams. The Senior Technical Lead serves as a key point of reference for the client.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be an Engineer: Define, implement, and deliver technical solutions; meet commitments, deadlines, and SLAs; monitor project progress, provide updates to management, and ensure compliance with standards; create, invent, and develop technical solutions; utilize available tools, propose new ones, or develop them if they do not exist; anticipate, define, and assess infrastructure maintainability.
  • Be a Technical Leader: Guide operational teams on technical aspects, incident and change management, and best practices; train, develop, and engage teams; mentor and coach IT System Administrators to foster technical excellence; oversee system architecture design and specifications to ensure optimal performance and security; act as a leader in security and information security, collaborating with Orange B and client security teams; promote the vision of Orange Business Services.
  • Be a Driver of Innovation: Initiate, guide, and supervise innovation, improvements, and changes:
    • Optimize IT infrastructure for the client
    • Lead key IT infrastructure projects
    • Manage client projects (scope definition, solution proposals, etc.)
    • Deliver high-performance, secure, and scalable IT solutions
    • Conduct technology watch and stay up-to-date with industry trends
    • Recommend strategies (automation, technical procedures, etc.), IT policies, and procedures aligned with organizational objectives and client needs
    • Ensure client satisfaction and support Orange B teams while optimizing service quality
  • Act as an Advisor: Serve as a trusted advisor to the client and OB teams (operations, SDM, Incident, and Change Management); assert oneself and resolve conflicts calmly and constructively.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent
  • Professional certifications (ITIL, technical certifications)

Minimum Skills and Experience Required:

  • Approximately 10+ years of progressive and/or significant experience in IT
  • Linux/UNIX OS: strong experience (minimum 5 years)
  • Any distribution: RHEL/OEL is a plus
  • Advanced administration (beyond command-line basics)
  • Microsoft Windows Servers: good to expert level
  • Solid knowledge of PowerShell
  • Automation: proven skills and experience in automation using:
    • Scripting languages
    • Ansible (or similar tools)
    • GIT (version control) (GITLAB)
    • CI/CD (Jenkins or similar tools)
    • Scheduling tools (VTOM / One Automation)
  • Infrastructure management: VMware/Proxmox, tools/software for DRP

Additional assets:

  • Proven experience managing enterprise storage infrastructures (EMC, HP3PAR, Hitachi, SAN Switches, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience with backup technologies like Legato Networker (Data Domain)
  • Proven scripting experience: Bash/SHELL, Python, PowerShell, or any other scripting language
  • Strong project management skills: managing multiple parallel projects, defining technical and business requirements, prioritizing tasks, documenting processes
  • Excellent written communication in French and English: able to implement and maintain accurate documentation and processes compliant with audit requirements and organizational standards; willingness to document thoroughly
