Job Summary:

 You will be responsible to;

  • Act as interface between MD/Finance and operational departments in order to control cost and profitability
  • Be responsible  for the cost control of the company fleet
  • Provide managers with monitoring tools (e.g. budget delivery appraisal)

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the preparation and delivery of budget and reports;
  • Conduct monthly operational and financial meetings with relevant analysis reported and action plan .
  • Provide a clear vision of the gap between budget and reality.
  • Prepare monthly corporate reports and cost control reports per vessel/cluster.
  • Deliver vessels forecast & budget.
  • Ensure and/or assist in the execution and implementation of analysis at the request of managers or Superintendents.          
  • Provide monthly accruals (CAPEX) and various reports for monthly closing.
  • Ensure completeness and accuracy of figures according to requirements and deadlines.
  • Establish monthly ship management fees and ensure completeness and steadiness of invoicing as per ship management contracts.
  • Follow vessels status: delivery, redelivery, stacked and reactivated.        
  • Follow-up variance: responsible for following, measuring and analyzing deviation versus budget in coordination with operational stakeholders.
  • Ensure that adequate assistance is provided to operational and technical team where required.
  • Establish a reliable and pertinent reporting according to Group Requirement, to understand and follow the Group reporting processes, the reporting cycles and abide to all deadlines;
  • Accurate and timely record of PMP costs and back charge.
  • Provide other value-added analytical reports whenever required. 
  • Measure expenditure and performance.
  • Produce rolling forecast.
  • Responsible for delivering appropriate management information (financial reporting and operational and safety KPIs) consistent with consolidated accounts and for advising appropriate corrective actions;
  • Perform any other cognate duties as may be required by the Management.

Candidate’s profile:

  • Hold at least a diploma in Finance or in Business Management or have followed ACCA studies;
  • Have minimum 2 - 3 years relevant experience as Cost Controller, preferably in a multinational company performing operations linked with foreign currencies transactions; knowledge of Marine Industry and/ or oil and gas industry will be a plus;
  • Have excellent knowledge of MS Office/ Excel skills (master some of  its advanced functionality such as Advanced Formulas, tables and conditional formatting, advanced charting, pivot table and pivot reporting, VBA and macros, data table simulations and solvers, integrating excel with other tools (BI System); and you have experience in working on following software: ORACLE or SAP BPC
  • Proven experience of data collection, data mining, data analysis, benchmarking and statistical techniques;
  • Ability to elaborate budgets and forecasts and how to follow up profitability as well as margin and activity analysis;
  • Analyze consolidated data and performance as well as how to check the dashboard / financial information reported, and to compile and analyze KPIs and have experienced in preparing presentation and dashboards for management’s meeting and review;
  • Sound organization skills and able to interact, produce and report with a professional approach at all times;
  • Have a detail-oriented mindset and pay attention to details.
  • Work independently and be comfortable working in a multi-cultural environment;
  • A perfect command of French and English is mandatory.
