About the Role

Anzana Electric Group is hiring a Junior Accountant to support the Finance team with the group’s day to day bookkeeping, payment and administrative tasks. This internship offers the opportunity to apply for future open job positions in the group. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong numeracy, attention to detail, organizational skills and possess high standards of professionalism and integrity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Working closely with and reporting to Anzana’s Group Accounting Manager, the Junior Accountant will be entrusted with the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Perform general bookkeeping in line with IFRS
  • Perform intercompany bookkeeping and reconciliation
  • Provide active support during financial audits
  • Review employees’ expenses for accuracy
  • Post employees’ expenses and reconcile accounts balances
  • Perform bank reconciliations
  • Prepare and process weekly list of payments for the Group and related subsidiaries
  • Perform matching controls on payments
  • Input payment details on Internet Banking
  • Perform accounts payable reconciliation
  • Perform monthly journals including prepayments and accruals
  • Prepare and maintain quarterly fixed asset register
  • Ensure journals and account reconciliations are completed accurately and timely
  • Assist the Finance team with ad hoc administrative duties

Minimum Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of one year of experience in a similar role or office experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting, Economics, Finance, or similar
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Odoo accounting software is a plus.

  • High standards of integrity and professionalism.
  • Comfortable working in a multicultural environment and with remote teams.
  • Take initiative, proactive and hands-on.

Other:

  • Demonstrated interest in renewable energy, international development, and social impact.
  • Previous internship experience with a Big 4 or multinationals in Africa is a plus.
  • Fluency in English is required and in French is a plus.
  • Willing to commute to the office in Grand Baie when required
