The Procurement and Cost Optimization Officer oversees sourcing and purchasing of goods and services for Cementis’ operations, ensuring timely availability, optimal cost, quality, compliance, and strong supplier relationships.

 

 MAIN ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Health & Safety Management 
    • Reporting any dangerous situation, near misses or unsafe act/condition to management  
    • Participating in and contributing to safety month activities or other safety related events organized by the company 
    • Participating in the risk analysis of activities performed by you, as and when required 
    • Keeping management informed of all new work process put in place in your department to enable a proper risk analysis 
  • Procurement Duties 
    • Follow-up of pending purchase orders  
    • Create and maintain purchasing files and price lists 
    • Keep information accessible by sorting and filing documents 
    • Source and procure goods and services in line with company policies and budget targets 
    • Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations, ensuring competitive pricing and value for money 
    • Prepare purchase orders and contracts in accordance with approved procedures 
    • Identify and develop reliable local and international suppliers 
  • Customer Service/ Vendor relationship 
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and service providers 
    • Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contract conditions 
    • Monitor supplier performance (quality, cost, delivery time) and address issues proactively 
    • Support contract renewals and vendor evaluations 
  • Cost Control:  
    • Track procurement spending and support cost-saving initiatives 
    • Identify opportunities for bulk purchasing, alternative suppliers, and process improvements 
    • Maintain accurate procurement records and prepare regular reports on purchasing activities 
    • Ensure all purchases are properly documented and approved 
  • Compliance & Process:  
    • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, safety standards, and relevant regulations 
    • Support audits by maintaining clear documentation and procurement trails 
    • Promote ethical sourcing and fair supplier practices 

PROFILE

  • Educational Background / Qualifications: 
    • Professional certifications in procurement or supply chain 
    • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in procurement, preferably in manufacturing, cement, construction, or heavy industry 
    • Knowledge of Business Central ERP or procurement systems is an advantage 
  • Competency profile:  
    • Computer-literate (good knowledge of Microsoft Pack Office) 
    • Strong negotiation and supplier management skills 
    • Good understanding of industrial supply chains and technical purchasing 
    • Excellent organizational planning abilities and Dynamic. 
    • High attention to detail and strong record-keeping skills 
    • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities 
    • Good communication skills for working with internal departments and external vendors 
    • Solid analytical and cost-control mindset 
    • Integrity and commitment to ethical procurement practices 
  • Language Skills:  
    • Fluent in English and French, both written and spoken
