Reports to curator; oversees museum facilities, utilities, and equipment. Handles servicing, repairs, contractors, and coordination with landscaping, IT, and security. Requires hands‑on skills, crisis management, clear reporting, and availability for emergencies/events.
Our client, located in the west of Mauritius, is on the lookout for a Building Maintenance Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Report to the museum curator.
- Monitor services including electrical, solar photovoltaic, water, wastewater, and air conditioning.
- Monitor structures, roads, drainage, and equipment:
- Buildings: Museum, Offices, apartments, workshop, perimeter fencing, store, and technical buildings
- Equipment: Lifts, generators, solar panels, distribution boards, extractor fans, pumps, and all reticulation.
- Arrange for all servicing within the required/specified timeframe.
- Perform in house maintenance where applicable.
- Arrange and oversee outside contractors to perform maintenance works.
- Repair or arrange that repairs are carried out when needed.
- Coordinate and organise works with the Landscaping contractor, IT infrastructure provider and security team where needed.
- Prepare information required to request quotations.
- Deliver or forward all invoices, accounts, quotations, reports to the museum curator and museum administrative department.
Requirements:
- Willing to get involved in repairs and inspections.
- Strong crisis management and ability to work under pressure.
- Clear reporting and stakeholder liaison.
- Availability for out-of-hours emergencies and events.
