Assistant Accountant

Primary Purpose:

This position is mainly for intercompany accounting, responsible for reconciling intercompany transactions across multiple entities. The assistant accountant will also support month-end close activities along with other Reporting and Ad hoc duties.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the end-to-end accounting of intercompany loans, including initial recognition, interest accruals, repayments and non-cash transactions.
• Review and post journal entries weekly and monthly for intercompany transactions.
• Ensure that all loan transactions are accurately recorded in company books.
• Collaborate with Treasury, Account Payable team on intercompany transactions.
• Prepare monthly intercompany loan reconciliation, provide analysis on variances and delivery of timely monthly intercompany loan reconciliation.
• Ensure procedures and controls are in place and are adhered to.
• Participate in the system development and testing.
• Draft status report for respective stakeholders.
• Other accounting, administrative related duties and audit as and when required. 

Qualifications & Experience

 Essential Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
• ACCA level 1 or partly qualified
• At least 1 year of experience in an accounting role.

Knowledge and Experience

• Proven experience in working in a computerised accounting environment.
