The Shipping Officer (Import) is responsible for coordinating and managing all import-related activities to ensure timely, accurate, and cost-efficient delivery of goods. This role handles documentation, shipment tracking, customs clearance, and communication with suppliers, freight forwarders, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate and monitor all import shipments from origin to destination.
Prepare, review, and manage import documentation (e.g., invoices, packing lists, BL/AWB, CO, permits).
Liaise with suppliers, shipping lines, forwarders, and customs brokers to ensure smooth clearance.
Track shipments and update internal stakeholders on delivery status.
Ensure compliance with import regulations, customs requirements, and company policies.
Resolve shipment delays, discrepancies, or documentation issues promptly.
Maintain accurate records and support regular reporting on import activities.
Assist with cost control by comparing freight charges and optimizing shipment arrangements.
Requirements:
1–3 years’ experience in import logistics or shipping.
Familiar with customs procedures, HS codes, and import regulations.
Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in MS Office; experience with ERP systems is an advantage.
