We are seeking a self-motivated individual with strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively to tight deadlines. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a genuine interest in understanding clients’ businesses and delivering high-quality service.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

You will work with a portfolio of UK clients including limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships. Responsibilities include:

Bookkeeping on cloud Software as follows:

  • Review sales and expense documents received via DEXT, ensuring accurate coding and publishing to Xero.

  • Review and match bank statement transactions in Xero to sales and purchase invoices.

  • Post payroll journals based on payroll reports.

  • Prepare and raise queries for the UK team to send to clients.

  • Produce Xero online bank reconciliation reports, reviewing and noting required amendments.

  • Review aged receivables and payables in Xero, make necessary adjustments, and provide review notes for the UK team.

  • Review VAT transactions in Xero VAT returns, confirm correct VAT codes, and forward to the UK team for final review.

  • Enter year-end accounting journals into Xero.


Technical Requirements

  • Understanding of double-entry bookkeeping (advantageous).

  • Strong IT skills with working knowledge of Outlook, Excel, and Microsoft Teams.

  • Experience using Xero or other accounting software (beneficial).

  • Awareness of UK VAT rules (a plus).

  • Good communication skills for calls and email communication with the UK team.


Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing ACCA Level 2 or equivalent qualification.

  • Minimum 2 years’ relevant work experience.
