Our client, a dynamic investment management company is seeking to recruit a Private Equity Analyst who will be a core member of the investment team, focusing primarily on sourcing, deal flow management, due diligence, and execution.

 

This junior role is ideal for candidates who combine strong technical skills with commercial acumen and can apply a systematic and structured approach to market mapping, GP engagement, and investment process support.

Responsibilities:

Sourcing & Dealflow:
  • Build and maintain comprehensive mappings of GPs and Placement Agents, segmented by strategy, geography, and size.
  • Systematically identify new managers aligned with company's allocation priorities.
  • Proactively reach out to GPs and Placement Agents, establish contact, and schedule meetings for senior team members.
  • Manage the dealflow funnel and CRM: record incoming opportunities, track interactions, and flag overdue contacts.
  • Prepare sourcing committee materials (lists, calendars of upcoming raises, hot deals, GP mapping).

Due Diligence & Deal Execution:
  • Support the evaluation of investment opportunities through financial, operational, and strategic analysis.
  • Collect, analyze, and synthesize data during the due diligence process.
  • Assist in coordinating financial, legal, and reference checks with advisors and third parties.
  • Draft Investment Memos articulating the investment thesis, risks, and return profile.
  • Prepare materials for Investment Committees and assist senior investors during presentations.

Post-Execution & Portfolio monitoring:
  • Ongoing monitoring of portfolio companies and fund investments, including tracking key financial and operational KPIs.
  • Modelize exit scenarios: analyze timing, valuation, and liquidity options to support portfolio management decisions.
  • Manage investment waterfalls: assist in maintaining and updating waterfall models for each investment.
  • Provide recurring updates on portfolio performance and exit outlook to senior management and investors.
  • Contribute to quarterly reviews and ad hoc requests from LPs regarding investment progress.

Market Research & Strategic Insights:
  • Conduct market and sector analyses to benchmark GPs and identify trends relevant to fund selection and co-investment opportunities.
  • Monitor industry developments and maintain an updated knowledge base of market participants.

Internal Support & Reporting:
  • Contribute to the preparation of investment team presentations and reporting for internal committees.
  • Provide structured updates to senior management on sourcing activities, pipeline evolution, and deal progress.

Profile:

 
  • Graduate from a top-tier business or engineering school, or a leading university (specialization in finance, strategy, or economics preferred).
  • At least 1 to 3 years of experience in private equity, M&A, strategy consulting, or corporate finance is a strong asset.
  • Highly systematic and process-oriented approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
  • Fluent in English and French (both written and spoken).

Technical Skills:
  • Strong financial analysis and modeling skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Familiarity with CRM tools and data-driven workflows.
