Your focus will be on ensuring optimal performance, compliance, and minimal downtime across HVAC, heating, water, buggy, STP, gas system and energy systems.

 

Job Opportunity: Plant Room Engineer

Are you an experienced engineer with a passion for mechanical systems and building services? We are looking for a Plant Room Engineer to join our facilities team and play a vital role in the operation, maintenance, and optimization of our plant and equipment.

Role:

As a Plant Room Engineer, you will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and            fault-finding of mechanical systems within our property. Your focus will be on ensuring optimal performance, compliance, and minimal downtime across HVAC, heating, water, buggy, STP, gas system and energy systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and service plant room equipment (boilers, pumps, chillers, AHUs, BMS, etc.)
  • Respond to breakdowns and carry out fault diagnostics and repairs
  • Monitor and optimize system performance and energy efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety and building regulations
  • Complete accurate service reports and maintenance records
  • Support wider facilities team on-site as required
  • Liaise with third-party services to ensure proper maintenance of equipment is respected and perform as per standard
  • Able to conduct training

Requirements:

  • Bachelor or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or similar
  • Proven experience in a similar plant room or building services role
  • Good knowledge of HVAC, heating systems, RO plant and controls (BMS) will be an advantage
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  • Awareness of health & safety standards (e.g., Legionella, COSHH)
  • Able to manage a team
