The Junior Client Accountant will assist in managing the financial accounts of clients and support the team in ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

 

Job Purpose

The Junior Client Accountant will assist in managing the financial accounts of clients and support the team in ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop accounting skills and gain exposure to trust and client accounting processes.

Main Duties

  • Assist in preparing and maintaining accurate financial records for trust clients

  • Support client accountants in managing client accounts and ensuring timely payments

  • Help reconcile bank statements and other financial records

  • Assist in preparing basic tax returns and financial reports for resident trusts

  • Support the review and assessment of trust asset performance

  • Assist in resolving financial discrepancies and ensure compliance with relevant regulations

  • Communicate with clients under guidance and respond to basic inquiries

  • Collaborate with other teams such as client accounting and audit teams

  • Stay updated with basic changes in tax laws and regulations

  • File relevant returns with the MRA under supervision

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

  • Entry-level professional certification (e.g., ACCA Level 1) is an advantage

Skills

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work well in a team and learn from others

  • Basic problem-solving and analytical skills

  • Attention to detail and accuracy

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and accounting software

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively

Experience

  • 1 - 2 years of relevant work experience (internships or entry-level roles considered)

  • Understanding of basic accounting principles

  • Interest in trust and client accounting processes
