We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Site Engineer to join our civil engineering team in Mauritius. As a Junior Site Engineer, you will be responsible for assisting in the planning, coordination, and supervision of construction activities on-site.
This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate or early-career professional to gain hands-on experience in infrastructure, residential, or commercial projects under the guidance of experienced engineers and project managers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing daily site operations and ensuring work is completed safely, on time, and within budget.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Support the Site Engineer and Project Manager in planning and execution of site activities.
- Supervise contractors and subcontractors and ensure proper coordination on-site.
- Prepare and maintain site records, reports, and documentation, including daily site diaries and progress reports.
- Conduct site measurements, material take-offs, and quantity calculations as required.
- Liaise with consultants, architects, and suppliers for technical inputs and material deliveries.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards and environmental regulations.
- Participate in quality assurance and control procedures during construction.
- Assist in resolving any technical issues or site constraints in a timely manner.
- Attend site meetings and provide updates on work progress and issues.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- 1–2 years of relevant experience in civil or construction projects (internship experience may be considered).
- Strong understanding of construction drawings, standards, and specifications.
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Good problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- Willingness to work on-site and adapt to various project conditions.
- Valid driver’s license (preferred).
