We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Store Keeper to manage the day-to-day operations of a construction site store. The Store Keeper will be responsible for receiving, storing, issuing, and recording materials, tools, and equipment used in civil engineering projects.

 

The ideal candidate should have experience in construction materials management, be highly organized, and able to ensure proper inventory control to support smooth project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Ensure proper storage of construction materials to prevent damage or loss.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records, including stock levels, receipts, and issues.
  • Issue materials to site teams based on approved requisitions and project needs.
  • Monitor stock levels and coordinate with procurement to replenish items as needed.
  • Tag, label, and organize items for easy identification and retrieval.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the store area.
  • Conduct regular physical stock checks and reconcile with inventory records.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly stock reports for management review.
  • Ensure proper documentation of all store activities, including delivery notes, GRNs (Goods Received Notes), and MRNs (Material Requisition Notes).
  • Coordinate with site engineers, foremen, and procurement staff to ensure timely supply of materials.
  • Implement and follow site safety procedures within the store area.
  • Identify and report any discrepancies, damaged goods, or inventory issues promptly.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • SC / HSC or equivalent. A Certificate or Diploma in Storekeeping, Logistics (preferred).
  • Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably within the construction or civil engineering sector.
  • Knowledge of civil construction materials (e.g., cement, steel, aggregates, pipes, fittings, etc.).
  • Proficient in inventory management systems and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
  • Familiar with basic documentation and storekeeping procedures.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Good written and verbal communication in English and French.
  • Honest, trustworthy, and capable of working independently.
  • Physically fit and able to handle material movement when required.
