Technical Surveying Assistant - GIS

Duties & responsibilities

• Manage (update & improve) the database of immovable assets on a Geographic Information System (ArcGIS) platform; ensure interoperability of the data with other GIS platforms (Google Earth, QGIS, Cane Pro etc.)
• Generate & manage the Fixed Assets Registry of the company
• Generate the necessary information (plans, lists of categories of asset) for valuation purposes
• Collect, process, and perform spatial analysis of geographic data
• Convert geographic data from various formats (DWG, SHP, KML) for sharing
• Structure and set up data for cartographic editing and generation of thematic maps
• As might be required, generate survey plans and individual extract of survey plan
• Establish intelligent tools from geographic data, aerial, satellite images or other data
• Set up projects for field surveys to be carried out on QField /Trimble Terraflex
• Generate and manage lease agreements (land and immovable assets) for the Alteo group of companies
• As necessary, trigger invoicing of leases at the Accounts department
• Attend any queries/request for info as may be requested by the lessees.

Qualifications

• Degree in Geomatics or related field
• Computer literate - MsWord, MsExcel, Outlook
• Well versed in the use of ArcGIS and QGIS software
• Knowledge of AutoCAD/Map, Adobe Illustrator and Inkspace would be a plus.

Experience

• Past experience working on implementation of GIS projects will be an advantage
