Shop Manager (Garden Cafe - Bagatelle Mall)

The company is looking for a Shop Manager to overview the day to day operations of one of his outlet situated at Bagatelle Mall.

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.     People Management        

  • Assign and monitor duties to staffs to ensure high level of customer satisfaction and sales target are met.
  • Assist in hiring and training of staffs to sustain a high performing team, efficiency and minimizes staff turnover.
  • Assist in staffs’ performance appraisals to assess performance, training needs and build career paths.
  • Prepare work schedule/roster for staffs on a weekly basis whilst ensuring efficiency and work life balance of employees.
  • Handle employee grievances and report to Management for remedial actions.
  • Advise on disciplinary actions to be taken against employees for non-compliance and misconduct.
  • Ensure employees adhere to safety & health regulations, food safety guidelines and other policies and procedures of the company at all times.
  • Assist the Management in Staff Welfare activities as may be required.

 2.    Customer Service

  • Lead your team to provide exceptional customer service.
  • Set clear mission and deploy strategies across the shop to improve customer service standards and increase sales.
  • Handle customer issues and/or complaints in a timely manner.
  • Monitor closely front liners to ensure customer satisfaction and sales target are achieved.

 3.     Inventory Management

  • Monitor stock levels to ensure product stock is adequate to meet customers’ demands.
  • Place orders as and when required whilst avoiding insufficiencies or surplus of stocks.
  • Ensure FIFO, LIFO and FEFO method is obeyed as appropriate to minimise waste.
  • Ensure proper record keeping of stock movements.
  • Lead physical inventory counts periodically to ensure the data records match the actual inventory levels.
  • Collect and analyse data to forecast demand for different stock items.
  • Ensure goods are kept in appropriate surroundings and/or temperature to avoid waste.

 4.    Financial Management

  • Assist Management to create and maintain annual budget.
  • Provide insight to the Management on fast selling goods, slow moving goods, cost variation and take remedial actions accordingly to achieve sales target.
  • Ensure all cash handling transactions are properly managed and recorded as per company policies to avoid discrepancies and/or prejudice.
  • Provide financial reports as and when required.

 5.    Day to Day Operations

  • Monitor daily operation of the shop in terms of labor, quality standards, legal compliance, customer needs amongst others.
  • Monitor financial data and budgets to increase profitability.
  • Perform routine checks to ensure shop is well conditioned. Flag breakdowns to Maintenance department for repairs in a timely manner.
  • Ensure shelves are well displayed as per company standards to achieve sales target.
  • Plan and oversee promotional events or displays.
  • Determine and implement improvements across the Shop.
  • Ensure cleanliness and proper hygiene across the store at all times.
  • Perform opening and closing of shops as per protocols on a daily basis.
  • Monitor, reinforce and implement security protocols across the outlet to ensure security of staffs, clients and visitors.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma/Degree in Business Management or any other equivalent qualifications.
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of retail experience in a Supervisory role.
  • Passion and knowledge for Retail.
  • Strong interpersonal, leadership and negotiation skills.
  • Well versed with MS Office package.
  • Analytical skills and proficiency to evaluate profit margins and oversee inventory management.
  • Strong ability to work effectively with others in a team setting.
  • Proven experience in guiding, coaching, and supporting the development of team members.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and merchandising skills.
  • Willingness to work odd hours to meet the needs of the Shop.
  • Holder of a valid driving license.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
  • Proactive mindset with problem-solving abilities.
