Is responsible for maintaining, repairing, installation or replacing of building fabric and building services when they malfunction, break or need to be installed. Is responsible for periodic inspections and preventive maintenance of building and its services.

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Should know the functioning of plumbing, cold water, hot water and firefighting systems in pump rooms.
  2. To be familiar with the buildings and areas, and have practical knowledge of all parts of equipment and installation, pipe routing, pump rooms and valve manipulation.
  3. Must be familiar with all manuals and instructional literature of all parts of equipment.
  4. Ensure the pump rooms are clean at all times.
  5. Should be able to determine sources of possible defects in order to prevent unexpected breakdowns and perform proper repairs.
  6. Be proactive.
  7. Responsible for the tools provided by the hotel.
  8. Must be able to work without constant supervision.
  9. To continuously give feedback to the supervisor on tasks performed.
  10. To attend preventive maintenance programs as per planning and procedures.
  11. Ensure that safety aspects are looked at.
  12. Must be familiar with fire detection systems, fire fighting and escape routes– smoke and heat detectors, call points, fire hose reels and fire hydrants.
  13. To attend fire alarm calls out and assists as per fire alarm procedures.
  14. Ensure that emergency situations are dealt with tact and solved accordingly.
  15. Ensure that hotel assets are protected while performing duty.
  16. Must ensure that protective equipment is used wherever applicable.
  17. To maintain a clear and clean workplace.
  18. To attend week end and public holiday duties as per roster.
  19. To attend morning briefings and wrap up sessions in the afternoon.
  20. To assist work undergone by either outside contractors or in-house.
  21. Is expected to make himself available at any time to carry out any job outside the scope of his daily work according to the needs of the operations or intervene personally on repair and maintenance work.
  22. To be able to work in team as required by the nature of the work for good functioning of operations and pertaining to guest satisfaction.
  23. Must report to his unit as soon as a cyclone warning class 2 is declared and start organizing all prevention measures and also make sure that he is operating under safety measures.
  24. To ensure that all maintenance requests are logged in the maintenance request book and communicated for action to the related person.
  25. To attend to daily maintenance request pertaining to his trade.
  26. To fill in the maintenance request log book once job completed providing all details as required in the log book.
  27. To be able to attend phone calls and liaise with guests as per company norms.
  28. Should have good communication skills with other departments relating to maintenance work.

 About You:

The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of experience in the same role in an international ultra-luxury resort and must be fluent in written and spoken English and French.
