Job Description

The Role

The colleague will ensure the smooth operation of the Mauritius office by maintaining the office facilities to the high standards of Checkout.com, while also providing general office support. Based in the Mauritius office and reporting to the Regional People Lead person, the role involves close and regular interaction with all members of the Mauritius office, business contacts as well as external vendors.

Receptionist Responsibilities:

  • Answering phone calls, taking messages, emails and directing them as appropriate.

  • Greeting, assisting, and announcing walk-in clients, vendors, job applicants, and other visitors to the office with a courteous and professional demeanour.

  • Notifying the relevant employee of visitor arrivals, and organising meeting refreshments.

  • Performing other office support functions, such as receiving, sorting, and distributing incoming mail/letters.

 

Workplace Responsibilities:

  • Providing logistical support and operational tasks at the office.

  • Closely supervising cleaning and other maintenance/repairs by contractors, including proactively identifying and reporting any gaps in the basic office facilities.

  • Maintaining appropriate stock of supplies and accessories, ensuring that basic supplies are always optimal and not missing.

  • Maintain electronic and physical filing.

  • Performing other duties as required by the Regional Lead.


 

Qualifications

About you:

  • Degree in Human Resource Management, Hospitality or equivalent would be a plus.

  • Established working experience as a Receptionist/Front-Office.

  • Familiar with digital tools and ticketing systems.

  • High level of drive, enthusiasm and resilience with ability to work under pressure.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, especially in English and French.

  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.

  • Comfortable with ambiguity, ability to flex and adapt and resilient through periods of change.
