Main Purpose of the Role
The Purchasing & Logistics Manager is responsible for ensuring the efficient, compliant, and cost-effective flow of materials and products throughout the supply chain. This data-driven role involves overseeing all procurement, sourcing, and logistics operations—both inbound and outbound. The role demands strict adherence to regulatory requirements such as ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR Part 820 while supporting the company’s manufacturing excellence and global distribution goals.
Key Responsibilities
Purchasing & Procurement
- Manage end-to-end procurement processes including RFQs, supplier negotiations, contract management, and purchase order execution.
- Utilize analytics to drive purchasing decisions, optimize safety stock, and avoid shortages or overstock situations.
- Maintain and improve master data accuracy such as active catalogs, lead times, and supplier data.
- Ensure supplier compliance with relevant quality and regulatory standards.
- Oversee invoice validation and payment cycles.
Sourcing & Supplier Management
- Lead the resolution of supplier non-conformance issues in collaboration with the Quality team.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with both local and international suppliers.
- Qualify new vendors based on cost, quality, lead time, and reliability.
- Identify cost-saving and alternative sourcing opportunities by monitoring market trends.
Logistics & Inventory Management
- Manage all logistics operations including transportation and customs clearance.
- Use ERP tools to monitor and optimize inventory levels and replenishment cycles.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead and develop a team of purchasing and logistics professionals.
- Promote a data-driven mindset within the team with a focus on ERP and analytical tools.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, finance, quality, and regulatory affairs.
- Track and report on supply chain KPIs to senior management.
Reporting, Business Intelligence & Analytics
- Maintain dashboards and KPI reports using tools like Sage X3 and other BI platforms.
- Monitor procurement performance and inventory movement to provide actionable insights.
- Support cost control initiatives through data transparency and performance measurement.
Regulatory Compliance & Quality System
- Ensure all logistics and procurement practices comply with ISO 13485 and FDA QSR standards.
- Maintain thorough documentation for supplier audits, qualifications, and certifications.
- Support CAPA initiatives and supplier validations, including risk assessments and performance reviews.
- Guarantee documentation accuracy and traceability in accordance with QMS requirements.

Job Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum of 5+ years in a similar role within a manufacturing or medical device environment.
Skills & Attributes
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of procurement, sourcing, inventory, and logistics.
- Experience with ERP systems (preferably Sage X3) and data analytics tools.
- Familiarity with ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR Part 820.
- Vendor negotiation and contract management expertise.
- Understanding of international shipping, customs, and freight cost optimization.
