The main purpose of a cellar master (also known as a maître de chai in French) in rum production is to oversee the aging, blending, and overall maturation process of the rum, ensuring its quality, consistency, and character.
Responsibilities
•Manage aging processes and barrel inventory
•Blend rums to maintain house style and develop new expressions
•Ensure quality control and sensory excellence
•Collaborate with production and innovation teams
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
•Well-rounded knowledge of major aspects of spirit making operations, personnel supervision, scheduling workflow, equipment and facility maintenance, capacity planning, procedural practice, training, and development.
•Good verbal and written communication skills required (French & English)
•Demonstrated ability to coordinate and document workflow
•Leadership capability to lead employees
•Great organization skills, meticulous

Education & Experience:
•Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (3 years of higher education)
•5 years of Supervisory and/or Management experience
