Electrical Engineer

Consultec Group is a fast expanding Mauritius based firm founded in 2004. Your main responsibility will be to assist the company in the engineering design, project administration, Design quality control, and commissioning on each project that has been assigned to you.

Key accountabilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

·         Project coordination with Local Authorities, Suppliers, Contractors, Consultants, Project Team and Clients.

·         Preparation of detailed calculations using computer-assisted design software.

·         Drawing up 2D and 3D CAD drawings using computer-assisted engineering software

·         Technical assistance during job estimation, budget preparation and preparation of tender documents

·         Estimating material, construction, and labour costs, and project timescales

·         Tender evaluation, tender reporting and preparation of contract documents.

·         Electrical (HV, MV, LV & ELV) Engineering Design and design review.

·         An understanding of Mechanical Engineering Design.

·         Internal liaison and coordination with engineers, draughtsman and Project Leaders assigned to you.

·         Making sure projects meet electrical and construction safety regulations

·         Overseeing Inspection, Quality Control and site supervision

·         Witness of testing and commissioning activities.

·         Project close-out in preparation of handover certificates.

·         Keeping an excellent working relationship with all your colleagues and coordination with other departments involved on day to day work.

·         Project management and follow up including chairing of project meetings and reviews and preparation of minutes of meetings.

·         Involvement in commercial activities.

·         Correct recording of time sheets and participation in Company’s administration.

·         Any other duties that may be assigned to you from time to time by your direct report in line with the requirements of your position and the Company.
