The person is responsible for ensuring the accurate handling, storage, and retrieval of stock items in the store and assisting with the safe loading, unloading, and delivery of goods using company vehicles.
Storekeeping Duties
Receive and unload deliveries; inspect items for damage, quantity, and accuracy against delivery orders or purchase orders.
Sort, label, and store materials in designated storage locations using FIFO (First In, First Out) or other relevant stock rotation systems.
Assist in organizing and maintaining a clean and systematic warehouse layout to facilitate easy identification and access to items.
Conduct periodic stock counts and support monthly, quarterly, and annual inventory audits.
Issue goods based on approved requisitions and record outgoing inventory accurately in stock management systems or ledgers.
Report discrepancies, damaged goods, or inventory irregularities to the Store Supervisor immediately.
Assist with packaging and preparing goods for shipment or delivery.
2. Lorry Assistance Duties
Assist in loading and unloading goods onto and from company lorries or third-party transport vehicles, ensuring proper handling to avoid damage.
Secure items in the vehicle safely using ropes, straps, or pallets to prevent shifting during transit.
Cross-check delivery items with packing lists and delivery orders before dispatching.
Accompany drivers on delivery routes when required and help deliver goods to client sites or customer premises.
Report any issues encountered during transport, including delays, road incidents, or delivery refusals.
3. Equipment and Safety
Operate basic material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, trolleys, or forklifts (if certified).
Follow all workplace safety and hygiene protocols, including the proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
Report any hazards, equipment faults, or safety violations to the supervisor immediately.
4. General Duties
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in both store and vehicle loading areas.
Support logistics and warehouse teams with additional tasks as needed, including moving goods between departments or assisting with container unloading.
Provide courteous and respectful service when interacting with drivers, suppliers, or clients.
