Are you an experienced Fund Accountant ready to step into a leadership role? A reputable international financial services firm is seeking a Senior Fund Accountant to join their team in Mauritius.
About the Role:
As a Senior Fund Accountant, you will be responsible for taking ownership of reviewing and authorising NAVs and payments for a portfolio of funds. Beyond oversight, you will also guide, mentor, and supervise a team to ensure exceptional service delivery, compliance, and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and authorise NAVs and payments with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Supervise fund accountants and oversee daily NAV preparation tasks, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
- Review investment documentation, expense accruals, and fee calculations.
- Manage daily and weekly reconciliations (cash, trades, distributions).
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements under IFRS.
- Serve as primary contact during audits—managing the process from start to finish.
- Address and resolve client and auditor queries promptly.
- Maintain investor registers and manage investor communication.
- Train, mentor, and onboard new team members, fostering a high-performance culture.
- Monitor adherence to internal controls, policies, and client SLAs.
- Participate in continuous improvement and risk reduction projects.
- Identify, report, and remediate errors while contributing to long-term process improvement.
What We’re Looking For:
- A university degree and/or professional accounting qualification (ACCA Level 3 or fully qualified preferred, or CIMA equivalent).
- 5 to 8 years of fund administration experience, with strong accounting and investment product knowledge.
- In-depth understanding of IFRS and VCC structures.
- Experience with open-ended investment funds.
- Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- A meticulous eye for detail and the ability to thrive under pressure.
- Confident in managing audits, reporting processes, and client relationships.
