Background
We are seeking a motivated Junior Accountant to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will work closely with various departments, including Operations, Account Management, Trading, Compliance, and Risk. This role is ideal for an individual who is currently studying towards ACCA (Level 1 or 2) and is eager to build foundational experience in a professional finance and accounting environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
- Process vendor invoices, ensure timely payments, and maintain accurate records.
- Reconcile customer and supplier accounts and follow up on outstanding items.
- Support the preparation of journal entries and basic financial transactions.
- Help with monthly bank reconciliations and account reviews.
- Assist in compiling financial data for management reports.
- Participate in the monthly and quarterly closing process.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date accounting records and files.
- Support in the preparation of VAT returns and compliance documentation.
- Assist with client billing and revenue recognition.
- Provide support during internal and external audits.
- Assist in payroll processing under supervision, ensuring accurate records.
- Contribute to the automation and optimization of routine accounting tasks.
- Stay updated with accounting regulations and support implementation of best practices.
Skills & Abilities- Fluent in English; other languages are an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and take direction.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- High level of integrity and confidentiality.
Experience & Qualifications- Currently pursuing ACCA Level 1 or 2, or a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance (in progress or recently completed).
- Up to 2 years of experience in a similar role or internship will be considered an asset.
- Understanding of basic accounting principles.
- Familiarity with accounts payable and receivable processes.
