Our client in the construction field is seeking to recruit a Head of Department Flooring who will report to the Director. The incumbent will be responsible for leading projects on the sites.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead projects from inception, ensuring cost control and operational efficiency.
  • Identify and secure new job opportunities to ensure departmental continuity and profitability.
  • Manage the entire department, including planning, coordination, and performance monitoring.
  • Supervise on-site activities, ensuring alignment with project goals and safety standards.
  • Oversee both employees and contractors, ensuring productivity and compliance.
  • Analyze material usage, manage costs, and maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Quote for potential clients, build a strong client portfolio, and meet sales targets.
  • Introduce new ideas, promote inter-departmental collaboration, and represent the department's capabilities.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management.
Profile:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, or a related field is typically expected.
  • At least 3 to 5 years' experience in a managerial or supervisory role overseeing flooring projects or teams.
  • Experience with project planning, cost estimation, and quality control is also critical.
  • Familiarity with various flooring materials (epoxy, polyurethane, concrete finishes, etc.), installation techniques, and safety standards is essential.
  • Strong organisation and planning skills.
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Good verbal and written communication.
  • Discreet, reliable, and team oriented.
  • Able to work in team.
  • Reliable and honest.
