We are looking for a dynamic individual to join the Risk and Compliance Department

 

MAIN DUTIES:

•    To act as Data Protection Officer on Client entities.
•    Act as point of contact for the Data Protection Office and for individuals whose data are processed.
•    Serving as the primary point of contact for data privacy queries for the Client entities.
•    Ensure to address all queries from data subjects within statutory time frame.
•    Design and execute a data protection compliance programme for the Client entities to ensure compliance with data protection obligations and to ensure that requirements are continuously assessed and enhanced through the ongoing maintenance of a register of processing activities and effective privacy impact assessments and remedial actions.
•    Managing data privacy breaches or near misses, support the identification of the root cause, mitigations and monitor implementation to prevent recurrence.
•    Perform audits on Client entities and verification to ensure compliance with data protection laws and regulations
•    Facilitating the identification, investigation management and resolution of data protection compliance related issues.
•    Working collaboratively with the relevant persons within DTOS Group to ensure that legal and regulatory requirements/best practices relating to data protection laws and regulations are effectively identified and implemented within the client entities.
•    Developing and delivering data privacy training to the employees and officers of the client entities.
•    Ensuring that the Client entities are duly registered as Data Controller and/or Data Processor with the regulatory authority and to renew the registration in due course.
•    Make relevant filings with the regulatory authority in relation to Data Protection obligations.
•    Provide assistance to DTOS Group’s Data Protection Officer(s) as they may required in the performance of their duties.
 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
•    Good understanding and knowledge of the Data Protection laws and regulations in Mauritius.
•    Holders of a university degree in Law, Management, IT or any other related field.
•    Any Data Protection qualification/certification would be an advantage
•    At least 4-5 years relevant working experience related to data protection
•    Good knowledge and expertise in Data Protection Act 2017 (‘DPA’), any regulations, codes of practices or guidelines issued thereunder and other relevant data protection laws as applicable in the financial sector.
 

OTHER REQUISITES:
•    Excellent Interpersonal and communications skills.
•    Strong analytical skills and attention to details and accuracy.
•    Able to work in a team and take initiatives.
•    Sound knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations.
•    Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc)
•    Perform well under pressure 
•    Willing to work odd hours when required
•    Good time management with respect to assigned tasks and projects.
