Are you ready to step into a leadership role in a dynamic finance environment?
We are looking for a Chief Accountant to join our team and drive accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across our financial operations. If you are a proactive, detail-oriented professional with strong accounting expertise, this is the opportunity for you!

Leadership and Oversight:

  • Coach and supervise the accounting team, ensuring timely and accurate task completion.
  • Support the Finance Manager with projects and key initiatives.
  • Act as the go-to person for all financial and accounting matters across departments.
  • Allocate and monitor workloads to meet internal deadlines and regulatory requirements.

Financial Reporting and Compliance:

  • Prepare and review monthly management accounts and internal financial reports.
  • Contribute to the preparation of annual budgets and financial performance monitoring.
  • Submit statutory returns and ensure compliance with all local and international accounting standards (including IFRS).
  • Generate VAT data and liaise with fiscal representatives (BE, NL & FR).
  • Prepare financial statements in accordance with IFRS and review contracts and records for accuracy.

Controls, Analysis and Improvements:

  • Conduct internal audits and assess the effectiveness of internal controls.
  • Identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements to accounting processes.
  • Monitor cash flow and ensure timely payments and adequate liquidity.
  • Analyse financial statements and flag anomalies or discrepancies.
  • Perform stock reconciliation and review reporting processes.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with auditors, regulators, legal, and external partners.
  • Resolve financial disputes and reconcile inter-company transactions as needed.
  • Generate monthly credit statements using the CAT website for Neemba International reporting.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Execute any other duties as may be required by management in line with business needs.

  • Ability to work efficiently and responsively under pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proactive in problem-solving and decision-making
  • Proficient in MS Office and financial databases
  • Team player with strong attention to detail
  • Knowledge of the African market is an advantage

Qualifications & Experience:

  • ACCA Qualified
  • Minimum 3+ years' experience of working in a similar position.
  • Professional certification
  • Prior experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, and customer account management.
