Proven experience as a cook or chef, preferably in a canteen or institutional setting. Knowledge of food preparation and sanitation practices. Ability to cook a variety of cuisines (e.g., Indian, vegetarian, snacks).

 

  • Prepare and cook meals as per daily menu and dietary requirements
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and surrounding areas
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of raw and cooked food.
  • Monitor food inventory and inform the supervisor about stock levels.
  • Maintain records of daily meals prepared and served.
  • Follow standard recipes and portion sizes to reduce waste.
  • Comply with health and safety regulations and food safety standards.
  • Assist in planning menus and suggesting new dishes.
  • Supervise and coordinate with kitchen assistants or helpers if any
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards immediately.
