The Assistant Procurement Officer supports the Procurement Department in sourcing, purchasing, and coordinating the delivery of materials, equipment, and services required for construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in sourcing and evaluating suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors.
Prepare and issue Request for Quotations (RFQs) and Purchase Orders (POs).
Maintain accurate procurement records, documentation, and databases.
Track and follow up on deliveries to ensure timely arrival of materials and equipment to project sites.
Assist in negotiating prices, terms, and conditions with suppliers to ensure cost savings and quality.
Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and site supervisors to understand material needs and timelines.
Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and stay updated on price trends.
Support in the evaluation of supplier performance and maintain approved supplier lists.
Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and relevant regulations.
Liaise with the finance department for invoice processing and payment follow-ups.
Prepare procurement status reports for management.
Requirements:
Education & Qualifications:
• HSC
• Diploma or Degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
• 1–5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain, preferably in the construction industry.
