Currimjee Jeewanjee and Company Limited is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and proactive Accounting Associate to join its CJ Accounting Shared Services team.
In this role, you will support the Finance function by performing accounting and administrative duties for Currimjee Jeewanjee and Company Limited and its subsidiaries. You will contribute to the smooth running of financial operations by ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing of financial transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate logging, documentation, and filing of all incoming and outgoing documents related to Accounts and Finance, including creditors’ invoices and supporting payment documents.
- Assist in the procurement process by raising Purchase Orders (PO) and Proforma Invoices (PI) in the system.
- Reconcile suppliers’ and customers’ accounts, issue and record receipts, raise PIs, and follow up on payments where applicable.
- Assist in raising customer invoices, sending statements of account, and following up on receipts.
- Process payments, upload them to the bank portal, and issue remittance advice to creditors as required.
- Assist Senior Accounting Associates and the Accountant in preparing and monitoring statutory returns (e.g., VAT, PAYE, NPF).
- Support Senior Accounting Associates, the Accountant, and the Manager on other accounting tasks and duties as assigned.
- Liaise with banks, auditors, vendors, and local authorities whenever required.
- Perform administrative tasks for Currimjee Jeewanjee and Company Limited and its subsidiaries, including coordinating insurance renewals, payment of road tax, and planning and dispatch of documents.
- Follow up on business and trade licence renewals and ensure compliance with administrative requirements.
Candidate Profile
- ACCA Level 1 or a Degree in Accounting and Finance (with ACCA studies in progress).
- At least 1 year of relevant accounting experience.
- Knowledge of accounting functions, financial processes, and compliance requirements.
- Proficient in MS Office applications and accounting software.
- Detail-oriented, organised, and able to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic work environment.
- Strong Teamwork and effective communication skills.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
