Duties and responsibilities

Assist the Head of Legal in:
• Ensuring that the company’s rights are protected, either through preventive and remedial action.
• Ensuring relevant registration with regards to regulations in force.
• Providing proactive and rapid legal opinion, and advise on all legal matters affecting the business.
• Providing guidance and assistance in the management of litigation issues, such as contract disputes, among others.
• Assisting external legal partners where necessary, identifying legal risk and assessing the issues impacting legal risk.
• Ensuring that court cases are well prepared and well represented for proper legal outcome.
• Drafting letters, documents, contracts, among others, while maintaining confidentiality on all the work prepared.
• Attending, when requested, court sessions and certain conferences with external counsel and attorney for preparation of files.
• Researching legal issues on various cases.
• Researching, analysing and reporting law sources, including any new legislations and amendments brought to existing legislations.
• Researching regulatory requirements.

Execute any other cognate duties as may be necessary in the circumstances and/or required by the employer.


Candidates Profile
• A Law degree.
• At least 2 years’ experience in similar position.
• Knowledge of court procedures and law sources.
• Excellent writing and oral skills in English and French.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and organising skills.
• Ability to identify and remedy complex legal issues.
• Result and service driven.
