The Senior Business Intelligence Developer will have to ensure the delivery of quality software solutions via development, testing or support activities and is also actively involved in providing support to junior team members via reviewing and coaching activities.

The Senior Business Intelligence Developer will have to ensure the delivery of quality software solutions via development, testing or support activities and is also actively involved in providing support to junior team members via reviewing and coaching activities.

Essential Duties:

• Implementation of ETL Processes (e.g. Microsoft Technology)
• Translate business & IT needs into functional and technical designs
• Work on ETL queries and data modelling
• Understand and implement data integration requirements
• Detailing functional and technical analyses
• Recording requirements in partnership with stakeholders and other team members
• Selecting fitting technological solutions, setting up proofs of concept where appropriate and completing a validation cycle with stakeholders
• Depending on the assignment, implementing the solution on your own or in team
• Writing and executing functional tests
• Close cooperation with end-users to allow rapid feedback cycles
• Composing end user documentation if necessary
• Review deliverables of junior team members
• Root cause analysis of defects/issues and drive resolution

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervision of other personnel may be required in this position and these include:

• Provide work direction, training and guidance to junior team members
• Provide effective team collaboration to rapidly progress projects
• Facilitate knowledge sharing and capture within the team

Educational / Skill / Experience Requirements

Education

• Degree holder in IT/IT related fields

Skills:

• At least 3 years of domain experience in design and development of BI solutions
• Good knowledge regarding relational databases and string SQL expertise
• Good knowledge regarding ETL development using SSIS
• Basic knowledge regarding .NET development
• Proficient in Business Intelligence Tools:
  • SSAS, SSRS, SSIS and MDX
  • Tableau knowledge is an asset
• Knowledge about developing self-service BI solutions
• Capable of presenting data insights (visual representations, semantic modeling…)
• Data Analytics knowledge is an asset
• Working on large and small assignments and using different technologies in conjunction and in various tasks)
• Domain knowledge on HR or payroll systems would be an advantage

Experience:

• At least 2-4 years’ experience in software development, testing or support
• Proven knowledge of process methodology
• Comfortable with software development concepts and lifecycles
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Flexibility - Working both autonomously and in team
• Good Proficiency in English Communication, Verbal and Written
• Team Player/Focus
