A growing international telecommunications company seeks a highly motivated in-house legal counsel with a minimum of two plus years experience.
The Candidate should have experience reviewing, drafting and negotiating agreements with minimal supervision and be able to manage multiple matters in an exciting, fast-paced environment. We are looking for candidates who are highly motivated, who have a passion, enjoy learning and who have excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Reviewing, drafting and negotiating many types of agreements with minimal supervision
- Facilitating legal and commercial awareness and compliance across the business
- Creating, customizing and updating legal templates
- Interacting with external law firms and other professional advisors
- Perform and coordinate legal due diligence, evaluation and risk analysis of transactions
- Advising business units on all relevant areas of law.
Skills / Experience Requirements:
- A LLB, LLM or J.D., (or foreign equivalent) with admission to the bar in at least one relevant jurisdiction and/or at least one common law jurisdiction with good standing.
- a minimum of two (2) years of post-qualification experience.
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills (dual English and French language skills would be an asset).
- Broad in-house and international experience would be an asset.
- Telecommunications experience would be an asset.
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills along with excellent business judgment and strategic thinking.
- Experience working with culturally diverse teams throughout North America, Africa, Europe and Asia (especially India) business regions.
- Hardworking, well organized and able to manage multiple matters at the same time.
- Strong interpersonal skills, good sense of humour, self motivated and willing to learn.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and work in a high volume and international environment.
- Superior business judgment and the ability to address complex opportunities and issues in creative and effective ways.
