- Brevet de Technicien en Mechanique d’Automobile; or
- National Trade Certificate Level III or II; or
- Brevet d’Aptitude Professionnelle en Mechanique d’Automobile;
Profile:
- Brevet de Technicien en Mechanique d’Automobile; or
- National Trade Certificate Level III or II; or
- Brevet d’Aptitude Professionnelle en Mechanique d’Automobile;
- Three years’ working experience;
- Experience in heavy duty mechanics and heavy vehicle driving licence will be an advantage.

Job Duties:
- Deal with various working clearances and components, dismantle, reassemble and adjust carburettors, tune engines, deal with and adjust combustion engines, diesel fuel pump and nozzles;
- Understand measurements required in the trade and use cylinder gauges, Micrometers, dial & depth gauges, crankshaft indicators and precision instruments;
- Read sketches and drawings and identify all parts of vehicles in English/French names;
- Report progress and or problems to the Responsible Officer;
- Test road worthiness of a vehicle;
- Understand simple dimensional sketches and drawings;
- Repair and adjust clutches, gearboxes, coupling, rear axles, brake systems (hydraulic and power), steering systems, springs, swivel pins and stub axles;
- Rest crankshaft for alignment and refit with complete set of bearings by scraping;
- Locate and repair faults on vehicle;
- Keep workshop environment clean;
- Assist in identifying mechanical problems of vehicles
- Repair and carry out minor adjustments to brakes, clutches and other mechanical parts; overhaul & reassemble simple mechanical assembly of motor vehicles running on petrol and diesel;
- Use and maintain tools and equipment of the trade
- Inform the Responsible Officer of any problem encountered during maintenance;
- Perform any other relevant duties as assigned.
