Performs preparation work for food items for the various outlets and actively participates in all food production areas of the kitchen.

 

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs all the preparation work for soups, sauces, salads.
  • Prepares food items as per instructions
  • Prepares basic culinary items as per standard recipes
  • Supplies assigned workstation with all needed products and culinary equipment, for prompt production.
  • Moves supplies and equipment as and when required.
  • Verifies that all equipment in the kitchen is clean and in proper working order and reports any equipment in need of repair to Chef de Partie/Demi Chef de Partie.
  • Performs general cleaning tasks, using hotel cleaning products, as assigned by superior.
  • Ascertains that floors are dry and clean at all times to avoid slip/fall accidents.
  • Informs co-workers and stewards of any area to be cleaned.
  • Stores all food in refrigerated boxes with covers, labels and dates, using the proper containers to protect against waste and spoilage.

 

Candidate’s Profile:

  • At least 2 years’ experience in the kitchen
  • Holder of an NTC3 in food production
  • Holder of a valid foodhandler certificate
  • Holder of a clean Morality Certificate
