Adecco is an International HR and Consultancy firm. Our client, operating in the audio-visual sector and offering local and international channels, is looking for a Legal Officer.
Reporting to the Legal and Administration Director, the successful candidate will provide Corporate legal support and represent both AML & UPL in certain litigations and perform certain corporate duties.
Main responsibilities:
- Initiate and pursue legal proceedings as required by the Company i.e. defenses, submissions and other pleadings in cases both “for and against” the Company.
- Represent the Company at mediations and arbitration at Commission for Mediation & Arbitration hearings.
- Liaise with and assist external Counsel in the discharge of their obligation to the Company.
- Draft and/or review legal letters, contracts and agreements (Content & Channels) and monitor legal obligations under agreements to ensure compliance, and minimize exposure to the company.
- Research and prepare legal opinions on various civil matters including claims for compensation against AML & UPL.
- Analysing legal issues relating to proposed products/content/Channels.
- Any other duties as many be required by management.
- Assist in the formulation, implementation and/or amendment of Company policies.
Qualification:
- Holder of Bachelor’s degree in Law
- Preferred additional qualification as an lawyer
Candidate profile:
- 3-5 years of experience within a similar position
- Technical understanding of AML & and attention to details.
- Excellent interpersonal communication at all levels (verbal and written).
- Problem solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
- Ability to cope with high levels of responsibility and with confidential matters.
- Ability to work well within the team.
- A high level of professionalism which is required on the job at all times.
- Computer Literacy.
