We are seeking a reliable Maintenance Officer to support the daily operations of our Maintenance Department. The ideal candidate will combine technical maintenance skills (electrical, plumbing, repairs) with administrative and coordination abilities to ensure efficient and safe facility operations.
MAINTENANCE OFFICER - Job Description
Technical / Maintenance Duties:
- Carry out electrical works, including inspection, troubleshooting, and minor repairs
- Perform plumbing works such as fixing leaks, unblocking pipes, and maintaining water systems
- Conduct general repairs and maintenance (carpentry, painting, fixtures, etc.)
- Perform routine inspections of building facilities to identify faults and safety hazards
- Ensure proper functioning of equipment, utilities, and infrastructure
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and tenants
- Coordinate and supervise external contractors for specialised works
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards
- Assist in fire drills and safety procedures
- Provide general administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the department
- Assist in procurement activities (purchase requests, quotations, supplier follow-up)
- Monitor and manage maintenance tools, materials, and supplies inventory
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, reports, and records
- Liaise with vendors, contractors, tenants, and internal teams
- Communicate with clients/tenants regarding maintenance issues and follow-ups
Requirements:
- Higher School Certificate (HSC) or equivalent
- Hands-on experience in maintenance work (electrical, plumbing, general repairs)
- Basic technical knowledge of building systems and equipment
- Experience in administration and procurement is an advantage
- Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks
