Terra Corporate is seeking an IT Support Technician to provide efficient technical support and maintain IT infrastructure.

 

Main Purpose:

The IT Support Technician will be responsible for maintaining the computer services and equipment of Terra and its subsidiaries. The duties can include but not limited to troubleshooting to detect and solve technical problems, installing or updating required hardware and software with the objective to provide an effective and efficient end-user assistance.

 

Key Responsibilities:


IT SUPPORT FUNCTIONS:

• Provide first call support to end-users (on-site, over the phone, remotely);

• Install and configure computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers and scanners;

• Troubleshooting of software and hardware issues;

• Set up accounts for new users as per I.T. protocol;

• Installation and configuration of hardware and software packages;

• Liaison with suppliers (follow-up, orders, repairs, replacement);

• Assist the I.T. Coordinator in the tracking and maintenance of the list of I.T assets;

 

CUSTOMER SERVICE:

• Assist end-users and respond in a timely manner to service issues and requests;

• To maintain a first-class level of customer service ensuring that all customers are treated efficiently and in an appropriate manner.

• Maintain excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues at all levels in the organisation;

 

PROJECT SUPPORT FUNCTIONS:

• Provide support to the IT team during the implementation of projects;

 

PROCESS IMPROVEMENT:

• Identify and lead process improvement initiatives across the department to improve efficiency;

• Monitor and document existing and revised I.T. processes and evaluate effectiveness or otherwise of new initiatives;

 

PERSONAL INVOLVEMENT:

• Perform any other cognate duties assigned by Reporting Line;

• Assist colleagues whenever the opportunity exists for improvement in operations or of work in general.

 

Knowledge & Skills:

 

• Knowledge of enterprise productivity software package

•Knowledge of corporate hardware (workstations, printers, projectors, audio/video conference, WIFI Access Points, IP/SIP PBX)

• Proactive, self-discipline and able to support end-users on remote sites

• Passionate and up to date with latest technologies

• Pleasant personality with an excellent team spirit together with strong problem-solving skills

• Fluent in French and English (both written and spoken)

 

Qualifications and Experience:

 

• Diploma or Degree in IT, Computer Science, or related fields

• Certification as IT Technician will be an advantage (e.g, CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional)

• At least 2 years’ proven experience as an IT Technician or relevant position
