Assistant Chemist

The Assistant Chemist will support the Chemist in ensuring the day-to-day operations and proper functioning of the laboratory.

Main Duties:

• Ensure good running conditions of all equipment in the laboratory.
• Weekly validation of equipment by use of standard solutions, quartz and other calibration verification equipment.
• Prepare all standard solutions for analyses.
• Follow up of maintenance and tidiness of the laboratory.
• Ensure regular calibration and verifications of all main scales.
• Ensure all test and analysis procedures are according to Official Standard Methods.
• Ensure sampling and sample preservation procedures are strictly followed until analysis.
• Compute Production Reports and Lab Bulletins as per required schedules.
• Work out daily Bulletin and reports on refinery performances and SOPs.
• Work out of release of containers to MSS.
• Ensure that magnets and CCPs are well maintained.
