About Us:
MISCO Ltd is a leading steel rolling mill specializing in high-quality rebar manufacturing. We’re looking for a hands-on, detail-driven Bookkeeper to join our finance and admin team. You’ll be the backbone of our accounting function — maintaining daily records, reconciling balances, processing supplier invoices, and preparing monthly management accounts.
Record receipts from debtors and payments to creditors
Process all cashbook entries and ensure day-end bank reconciliation
Match bank statement balances to daily cashbook balance
Process Forex transactions for MUR and USD bank accounts (ad-hoc)
Review overdue accounts, follow up on long outstanding balances
Resolve account queries in coordination with customers and sales
Capture supplier invoices only from approved PO & GRN (stocked & non-stocked)
Request invoices and statements from Kosto Ltd and DIL weekly
Review creditor age analysis to avoid duplications
Match balances and ensure invoice completeness
Process USD payments to MUR creditor account (ad-hoc)
Raise purchase orders (except those handled by procurement)
Receipt GRNs for suppliers and monitor unmatched GRNs
Follow up with suppliers for pending invoices
Process billet GRNs accurately as per guidelines — critical data integrity required
Process payroll journals and statutory returns (CSG, PRGF, NSF)
Post recurring journals (depreciation, payroll, leave provision)
Record electricity and factory consumable accruals
Coordinate with management for additional month-end adjustments
Prepare and submit VAT return accurately and on time
Prepare monthly management accounts
Perform full balance sheet reconciliations across all ledgers
Diploma or Degree in Accounting / Finance
Minimum 3 years’ experience in bookkeeping or accounting role
Strong Excel skills and experience with accounting systems (e.g. QuickBooks, Pastel, or Sage)
Understanding of manufacturing environments preferred
High attention to detail, self-driven, and strong follow-through
