Job Summary

To direct and guide the day to day operations of the boutique in providing the highest level of  product and service to the guests in keeping the overall philosophy and concept of the boutique and the resort.

 Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Directs and guides the day to day operations of the boutique in providing the highest level of product and service to the guests.
  • Regular up keeping of the boutique to ensure that it is in keeping with the standards in the international market.
  • Liaises with housekeeping for regular cleaning schedules.
  • Exhibits excellent knowledge of the entire resort and especially the boutique.
  • Ensures that the aura of the boutique is very chic and showcases very tastefully chic and stylish merchandise and make it a beautiful place, where guests will like to spend lot of time.
  • Is responsible for the cleanliness of the boutique, the work stations…… etc.
  • Does creative and innovative displays at the boutique so as to enhance the look of the boutique and maintain the requisite standards of cleanliness and hygiene, as required.
  • Ensures all merchandise is presented in a fresh, clean and inviting manner.
  • Ensures all merchandise is attractively and neatly displayed in a highly visible and easily accessible way. 
  • Ensures all items are clean, free of dust and well packaged.
  • Ensures the merchandise is individually priced, labels are always facing outwards, hanging items face the same direction, folded items are of the same size, and there are sizes to different merchandise (apparel, accessories etc).
  • Articulates the pricing policy of the boutique items in order to ensure a fair price to the guest, in conjunction with the financial controller and general manager.
  • Proposes changes in the pricing strategy, based on competition analysis and the target customer.
  • Is responsible for sourcing of products for the boutique, as per Executive Management guidelines, to ensure variety and quality of products in the boutique.
  • Makes sure the boutique is stocked with everything that a guest would need during his stay, though the same is displayed in a very discreet manner.
  • Ensures that the items are of best quality of the region and it features a large section of Logo Products for One&Only Le Saint Géran and One&Only.
  • Ensures the merchandise include at least the following items several current magazines/publications including sports, business, news and fashion, current newspapers including local and national ,greeting cards, toothpaste, razors, body lotions, and contact lens solution.
  • Ensures supplies are monitored and restocked as required.
  • Ensures proper monthly inventories of the boutique stocks in conjunction with the cost controller and ensures adherence to the requisite standards.
  • Makes sure purchasing is done as per the requirements and stocks in hand, so that there is optimum utilization of resources and there is no over stocking/blocking of capital, at any point of time.
  • Boutique manager follows up directly with suppliers on delivery status. On receiving of the goods on the island, the boutique manager together with the receiving officer checks and confirms the receipt of goods.
  • Adheres to the opening hours of the boutique at all times.
  • Ensures that the whole team is well groomed and uniformed, as described in the resorts grooming standards. 
  • Is attentive to guest needs at all times, taking ownership of all guest queries and not directing them elsewhere.
  • Is responsible for making guests feel comfortable.
  • Has full knowledge of the product and initiate suggestive selling’s and proactively makes recommendations, as to article selection etc.
  • Represents, promotes, and up sells One&Only Le Saint Géran and the boutique at all times to the best of his/her abilities.
  • Ensures a high amount of guest interaction and asks for feedback on services provided.
  • Ensures proper billing for the guest.
  • All the nonmoving stock is reported monthly and action plan is made to ensure that the same is effectively managed.
  • In charge of the timely preparation and submission of the monthly reports on the 2nd of each month to Accounts Department and the General Manager.
  • Ensures proper maintenance of records, and files.
  • Analyses and monitors the departmental profitability on a regular basis and initiates corrective actions.
  • Effectively supervises Boutique Senior Assistant and Boutique Assistant, and checks the completion of the assigned duties.
  • Conducts pre-shift briefing with the boutique team.
  • Directs the organization of work within the department, including assignments, time schedules and vacations.
  • Identifies training programmes and schedules for boutique staff in collaboration with the training department, ensuring that department employees are fully trained, and personally conduct key training.
  • Reviews the performance of team members and determines their development needs.
  • Recommends hiring, promotion, increments, and disciplinary action.
  • Maintains inter department relations and communication to achieve synergy within the department and the resort.
  • Abides by resort’s rules and regulations and ensures that team members abide by them as well.
  • Shares knowledge and skills with other colleagues.
  • Ensures that the boutique team follows safety rules and resort operating procedures.
  • At all times projects a favorable image of the boutique to the rest of the resort.
  • At all times projects a favorable image of One&Only Saint Géran and One&Only Resorts to the public.
