We are looking for a skilled Cook to work in a company canteen to prepare delicious meals according to menu. You will cook dishes that will delight our staff with their taste and timely delivery.
Job Responsibilities
- Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh
- Follow recipes, including measuring, weighing and mixing ingredients
- Bake, grill, steam and boil meats, vegetables, fish, poultry and other foods
- Present, garnish and arrange final dishes
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, including handling utensils, equipment and dishes
- Handle and store ingredients and food
- Maintain food safety and sanitation standards
- Cook foodstuffs as per menus set by Management
- Wash utensils, and other cooking equipment.
- Inspect facilities, equipment or supplies to ensure conformance to standards
- Clean food preparation areas, facilities, or equipment.
- Take inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Plan Menus options
- Assist in serving customers as and when required
- Occasionally serve food and conduct cashier duties
- Prepare meal for OT
Experience & Knowledge
- Proven of 5 years plus experience as cook for more than a 100 person
- Experience of cooking a variety of food (Chinese, Indian, Cuisine Mauricienne)
- Experience in using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware
- Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling etc.)
- Ability to follow all sanitation procedures
- Ability to work in a team
- Calm demeanor to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment
- Excellent physical condition and stamina
- Ability to stand in one place for hours at a time, handle heat and work odd as and when required
- To possess valid food handlers certificate
