QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience in similar position is a definite advantage.
- Minimum Form 3
- NC 3 Level from a recognized institution.
- Holder of a valid driving licence (motorcycle or private car)
ROLE SUMMARY:
- Troubleshooting, reporting, and tracking down problems identified.
- Dealing with emergencies, unplanned problems, and repairs.
- Inspecting heavy equipment for proper performance.
- Adjusting equipment and replacing faulty parts.
- Repairing damaged equipment parts.
- Cleaning, lubricating, and conducting routine services on heavy-duty vehicles.
- Cleaning and servicing of machine attachments.
- Testing vehicles (as applicable) for road worthiness after the vehicle has been repaired.
- Consulting with other mechanics on smaller jobs.
- Reporting damaged or faulty equipment to management.
- Ability to work odd hours if required.
