The Data Analyst would support developments of MI reports and is expected have minimum skills to develop simple and complex reports and dashboards that includes - an understanding of operational metrics and KPIs(preferably the ones related to Insurance operations).

 

Candidate should have an understanding of data rules, and ability to visualise them creatively, be able to relate to statistics derived from periodic reports to the business.

The job involves the collection of data from different sources, cleansing and transforming the date to be fit for reporting, and creating a visualisation out of it.

Duties and Responsibilities

Assisting in the production of standard reporting packs to Business as per the prescribed requirements.

Maintain the integrity of the MI reports with detailed review and data cleansing.

Ensure all data and reports are accurate, current, complete and consistent.

Work towards report improvisation via automation and innovation.

Qualification, Experience, Technical and Functional Skills


Customer Reporting

  • Prepare and deliver accurate, concise and clear reports and presentations.
  • Responsible for the delivery of regular reporting bundles and adhoc requests.
  • The job involves the collection of data from different sources, cleansing and transforming the date to be fit for reporting, and creating a visualisation out of it.
  • Ability to capture clear customer requirements and handle customer queries. Ability to connect with different stakeholders and under business operations and processes.
  • Good written and spoken communication.
  • Ability to improve and automate manual reporting with advanced excel formulas or VBA macros.
  • Basis knowledge of SQL queries for data extraction.
  • Create, update and maintain documentation with step by step procedures to create and publish report.

 Functional Knowledge

  • Intermediate knowledge of data and its attributes.
  • Ability to notice and evaluate trends and anomalies in data, and investigate them.
  • Ability to see beyond the raw data and “tell the story”.
  • Understanding of business operations particularly contact centre and back office operations.
  • Intermediate knowledge in Excel, VBA, and other reporting tools.

 Interpersonal Skills

  • Ability to handle queries, gather requirements with different levels in business.
  • Good communication skills.

Technical Skills

  • Excellent Data manipulation skills in Advanced Excel
  • Basic understanding of relational databases, along with SQL knowledge. ( Desirable)
  • P&C Insurance concepts
  • Good VBA and SQL skills with basic understanding of MS Access, PowerPoint, Word.
