Rogers Capital Technology Services Ltd is searching for a Project Engineer to work in its Managed Connectivity Services Department.

The Project Engineer will be responsible for all the technical and engineering aspects of the assigned projects. Collaborate closely with the project team, technical team, contractors and clients to ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget and in full compliance with technical and safety standards.
Duties & Responsibilities

1. Project Planning & Coordination

  • Responsible for developing and adhering to processes and procedures for the project execution and planning to ensure its smooth operation – This involves the 5 phases of Project life cycle.
  • Assist in the development of project plans, schedules, and work programs.
  • Coordinate project activities between technical teams, contractors, suppliers, and customers
  • Ensure alignment with project scope, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Ensure all stakeholders are aligned with project objectives and milestones.

2. Technical Support

  • Review technical specifications and project documentation.
  • Provide technical support and solutions during project execution.
  • Ensure work complies with industry standards, safety regulations, and project specifications.
  • Provide technical support to the Sales team during pre-sales activities and client engagements
  • Ensure customer enrolment in the system to facilitate the generation of Service Orders and Purchase Orders for material issuance from stock

3. Supervision & Execution

  • Monitor site activities and installation works to ensure compliance with approved designs and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with site teams to resolve technical issues or delay encountered on site and maintain project progress.
  • To provide support in testing and commissioning activities.
  • Confirm product/service performance by designing and conducting tests.
  • Coordinate all configuration and management changes to the network with partners, customers, and upper management before implementing them.
  • Utilize personal vehicle to attend site surveys, stakeholder meetings, and testing & commissioning activities as required.
  • Provide regular project updates and maintain effective communication with both local and international customers.
  • Attend site outside regular working hours when required to support ongoing project execution and ensure timely progress
  • Cooperate and communicate effectively with the Project Manager and other project participants to provide assistance and technical support.
  • Attend sites to confirm product/service performance by designing and conducting tests.
  • Perform Acceptance Testing including but not limited to new backbone, access, customer installations commissioning testing.
  • Monitor and follow up on both local and international projects as required, including outside standard working hours when necessary.

4. Project Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track project progress, milestones, and performance indicators.
  • Prepare regular project reports and updates for management and stakeholders.
  • Identify risks, delays, or potential cost impacts and recommend corrective actions.
  • Monitor system performance through monitoring software, proactively identify potential issues, and implement corrective actions as required prior to handing over a circuit to customers
  • Follow QA policies and procedures and submit to audits as required by the NOC, Project/FS lead, Project coordinator, Manager- Networks and service delivery.
  • Maintain project database for retrieval at any instant.

5. Quality, Health & Safety Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to quality control procedures and safety standards.
  • Support implementation of health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Make recommendations concerning any gaps or risks in the Network.
  • Participate in safety meetings, audits, and risk assessments.

6. Procurement & Resource Management

  • Assist in preparing technical specifications for materials and equipment.
  • Perform link engineering and last-mile planning, conduct root cause analysis, and provide recommendations to resolve identified issues
  • Assist with material selection, technical evaluation, and procurement.
  • Obtain cost quotations, raise purchase requests, and ensure compliance with finance policies and procedures related to procurement and budgetary control
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment to the site to support project execution.

7. Documentation & Project Close-Out

  • Maintain project documentation including drawings, reports, and technical records.
  • Support testing, commissioning, and project close-out activities.
  • Assist in preparing as-built documentation and final project reports.
  • Assist in the smooth handover of projects to customers and internal stakeholders upon completion.
  • Engage with clients to understand their needs, feedback and requirements, and ensure these are accurately represented during field operations.
  • Any other cognate duties in line with your capabilities.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Diploma / Bachelor of Engineering in Telecommunications or any other relevant fields.
  • CCNA Certification / PMP Certification would be an advantage.
  • Valid Driving License
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
