Alongside managing the team, you will lead the warehouse operations inside the facility, balancing the high-speed manual sorting of express parcels with the safe consolidation of freight, all while navigating the unique realities of Chronopost logistics.

Lead & Empower Our People (Team Management)

• Direct the Warehouse Team: Actively manage and mentor the warehouse team. Foster a culture of accountability, respect, and high performance.

• Labor & Shift Planning: Oversee daily shift scheduling and capacity planning, ensuring you have the right physical headcount on the floor to handle fluctuating daily volumes while minimizing unnecessary overtime.

• Conflict Resolution & Engagement: Handle day-to-day team dynamics, conduct performance reviews, and build a positive floor environment that respects the Mauritian Workers' Rights Act.

Drive Strategic Island Operations

• Operations Alignment: Align daily warehouse sorting and staging schedules directly with inbound/outbound operations. Remain agile enough to reorganize labor instantly when flight delays occur.

• Manage the Cross-Dock: Oversee the facility layout to ensure the seamless simultaneous handling of high-speed express courier bags and bulky, palletized freight using manual equipment.

• Crisis & Continuity Management: Act as the operational anchor during severe weather events (e.g., cyclone classes) or sudden international supply chain disruptions, ensuring staff safety and securing the facility.

Customs Compliance

• MRA Customs Custodian: Act as the primary guardian for customs-bonded areas within the facility. Ensure strict compliance with Mauritius Revenue Authority (MRA) regulations for all held or pending international freight.

• Cultivate a Safety-First Culture: Implement and enforce rigorous health and safety protocols. Because operations are highly manual, maintain a strict focus on ergonomics, safe lifting practices, and clear floor pathways to prevent workplace injuries.

Control Systems & Financial Efficiency

• Data & System Integrity: Ensure your team is accurately tracking every parcel so that physical movement perfectly matches the system data.

What We Are Looking For

• Experienced People Leader: A fair and hands-on manager who is highly experienced in guiding warehouse teams, resolving conflicts, and communicating effectively with senior management.

• Island Logistics Expert: Deep understanding of the local Mauritian distribution network, coupled with high-volume transit hub or cross-dock experience. Standard long-term storage experience is less relevant than high-speed throughput management.

• Resilient Floor General: A hands-on leader who leads by example and stays perfectly calm under the pressure of tight airline cut-offs and volume spikes.

• Comfortable with Technology: Adept at using standard software and technology tools to manage daily reporting and ensure data accuracy.

Requirements and skills

• Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics,Management, or equivalent practical experience.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in supply chain, logistics, or warehousing operations.

• Minimum 3 years of direct experience in a people-management role (managing a warehouse team).

• Familiarity with Mauritian labor laws and experience managing shift-based local workforces.

• Experience working alongside MRA Customs officers or managing bonded warehouse inventory is highly desirable.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
