The Baker is responsible for preparing, producing, and presenting a wide range of baked goods in accordance with established recipes, quality standards, and hygiene regulations. The role ensures consistency, freshness, and high-quality bakery products for daily operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and bake bread, pastries, cakes, and other bakery items according to standard recipes and production schedules
- Ensure consistent quality, taste, texture, and presentation of all baked products
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the bakery area, equipment, and utensils in line with food safety standards (HACCP)
- Ensure proper storage, labelling, and rotation of ingredients and finished products.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages or requisition ingredients as needed
- Work closely with the Executive Pastry Chef to ensure smooth daily operations
- Comply with grooming, safety regulations, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at all times
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Baker or in a similar role in a hotel, bakery, or restaurant
- Knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Ability to work early shifts, weekends, and holidays if required
- Good teamwork and time management skills
- Food safety and hygiene certification is an advantage
